To Funk or to Chunk?

Funk45 Photo GalleryFunk 45 has the versatility to fit your event's needs. Our full band — eight professionals packing the punch with a 3-piece horn section — is ideally suited to perform at corporate parties, class reunions, formal dances, wedding receptions, fraternity or sorority functions, private parties, music festivals and outdoor civic concerts. You may have heard us at both Staunton Jams and the Crozet Music Festival in 2010, or at The Edge at Wintergreen during last ski season. In summer 2011, we performed at some private events, at Staunton, Virginia's Jazz in the Park, and at the African American Heritage Festival.

“Funk45 was one of the most entertaining bands that we've had at Jazz in the Park over the past 24 years. The programming mix was well balanced and there was virtually no down time between songs. The musicians were easy to work with during set up and sound check. It was a polished, professional, exciting, crowd-pleasing concert and we hope to have you back!”

Chunk of Funk45“Chunk of Funk 45” features the driving beat of our rhythm section (Funk45 without the horns). This versatile 4- or 5-person ensemble fits well at club dates, restaurants and lounges (having played Devil's Backbone, The Edge, Mulligan's, Blue 5, and Byer's St. Bistro among others), as well as parties, dances, and weddings with a smaller audience (and budget). :: Whether you book Funk45 or Chunk of Funk45, full sound system is included in our fees. If you're looking for a fun group with a tight sound, Funk45 is it. Sweet vocals, tight rhythm, and killer horns got everyone on their feet. The dance floor at our wedding reception was full the minute they started playing. Their flexibility, attention to schedule, and personal service exceeded our expectations, and their set list was perfect for our night. All said and done - Funk45 was a huge hit!" - Zach and Joanne Koops, newlyweds, July 201
