Q: I've heard that bands and musicians can be flaky. How do I know you'll be on time, ready to play, and not act like a bunch of "prima donnas"?
We want your event to be a complete success, and we will do everything in our power to exceed your expectations. With decades of personal and collective experience as working professional musicians, you can expect Funk45 to be punctual, professional and courteous.
Before your Event/Party:
We pay attention to the details for every client's function and spell everything out in a standard contract. We contact you early,
stay in touch, and work behind the scenes with your
facility and other vendors to be sure everything goes smoothly. We discuss any special song or schedule requests and strive to make your event as smooth and seamless as possible.
When possible, we do a site
survey and walk through the venue
to be sure all questions are answered by your facilities coordinator and/or our sound engineer, agent, or band representative. We organize our load-in time and arrive in plenty of time to set up our
equipment, allow for any necessary adjustments, and conduct an on-site
sound check to be sure everything is operating optimally. Please inform us of any local sound ordinances in advance — especially regarding outdoor venues. (We'd rather let the cops know we're coming in advance, then to have them shut you down early for lack of clearance.)
During Your Event:
We check in with you, your event organizer, or onsite contact to see if we
can help in any way. Our breaks are timed carefully and we offer recorded background music whenever we aren't on stage.
Q: Besides paying you, are there other things I need to arrange and provide in order to have you perform at my event?
Our contract will spell out all the details of the booking, including our staging requirements, the number of contracted armed security guards we require, number of bowls of "only orange-colored" m&m's, number and precise chiling temperature of bottles of champagne . . . (SAY WHAT? just seeing if you're paying attention ;-) Actually, it's a simple and straightforward contract that's easy to understand and agree to!
Stage Plot: (DOWNLOAD GENERAL STAGE PLOT PDF)
We've accommodated a number of stage configurations and are flexible with our setup. When possible, we prefer a raised stage (18" - 24" height) to perform on (minimum ideal size: 16' deep x 24' wide, ideally including an 8' x 24' x 12" riser for drums and horns).
Preferred Power Requirements: (2 to 3) dedicated 20 Amp 120 VAC Edison Circuits.
Q: Can I talk to your previous clients about your band?
Referrals:
You are welcome to contact us, or any past clients for references. We strive to make every Funk45 experience one you'll enjoy and work hard to ensure you'll want us back for repeat engagements or to recommend us to your friends.
